About Berna’s Bakery & Café
Berna’s Bakery & Café is a women-owned, chef-run bakery and café in Issaquah, Washington, specializing in handmade, made-from-scratch pastries, authentic Turkish breakfast, and rich Turkish coffee.
Founded in 2025, Berna’s was created to bring the warmth of Turkish home cooking and traditional bakery culture to our local community. Every item we serve is prepared fresh daily using real ingredients, time-honored recipes, and careful craftsmanship.
Our Story
Berna’s Bakery & Café began with a simple dream — to share the warmth, aromas, and traditions of Turkish home cooking. Chef Berna grew up surrounded by the smell of simit baking in the oven, slow-brewed Turkish coffee, and long, joyful breakfast gatherings.
After moving to the Pacific Northwest, she wanted to bring those same traditions to Issaquah. As a women-owned small business, Berna’s Bakery & Café opened its doors with a focus on community, hospitality, and handcrafted food made the right way.
Today, we are proud to be a growing local bakery where neighbors, families, and visitors come together for homemade comfort and authentic Turkish flavors.
Meet the Owner – Chef Berna
Hello and welcome! I’m Chef Berna, the owner and baker behind Berna’s Bakery & Café. Every morning, I prepare our pastries, breads and dishes by hand, just as I learned growing up in Turkey.
My passion is creating food that feels warm, comforting, and real — whether it’s a flaky börek, a fresh simit sandwich, or a cup of traditional Turkish coffee. I’m especially proud to offer gluten-free, vegan, vegetarian, and Zabiha halal options so everyone in our community can find something they love.
When you visit Berna’s Bakery & Café, you’re not just enjoying breakfast or pastries — you’re sharing a piece of my culture, my kitchen, and my heart.
